About Taypro Pvt Ltd
Taypro is a technology company serving the renewable energy sector, specializing in automatic solar panel cleaning solutions and products that support the Operations & Maintenance (O&M) of solar power plants. Our products bring together mechanical engineering, electronics/controls, and software (IoT dashboards) into integrated, field-ready solutions for the solar industry.
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Product Manager to own the end-to-end product development lifecycle — from market research and requirement gathering through design, development, testing, and final validation at the customer site. This role sits at the intersection of our Mechanical, Electronics, and IT (Dashboard/Software) teams, and requires someone who can think broadly across hardware and software, translate market and sales inputs into a clear product roadmap, and drive execution against defined timelines and targets.
The ideal candidate has hands-on product development experience (ideally with electromechanical or industrial products), strong cross-functional coordination skills, and the ability to work independently while reporting directly to the Management.
Key Responsibilities
1. Market & Requirement Research
- Conduct market surveys and competitive analysis to identify customer needs, industry trends, and gaps in existing solar cleaning/O&M solutions.
- Gather and consolidate requirements from the Sales team, existing customers, and prospective clients.
- Translate field feedback and market insights into clear, actionable Product Requirement Documents (PRDs).
2. Product Planning & Roadmap
- Define product vision, scope, and success metrics in alignment with company goals
- Build product roadmaps with clear milestones, timelines, and deliverables.
- Prioritize features/products based on customer value, technical feasibility, and business impact.
3. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Act as the central point of coordination between the Mechanical, Electronics, and IT/Dashboard teams to ensure aligned execution.
- Translate business and customer requirements into technical specifications for each department.
- Run regular reviews (design reviews, sprint/stage reviews) to track progress, resolve bottlenecks, and keep development on schedule.
- Ensure smooth handoffs between mechanical design, controller/electronics development, and software/dashboard integration.
4. Product Development Execution
- Drive the product from concept, prototyping, and design iterations through to pilot testing and production readiness.
- Set and track development targets/KPIs (timelines, cost targets, performance benchmarks) with each department.
- Identify risks (technical, cost, timeline) early and drive mitigation plans.
5. Validation & Customer Feedback
- Plan and oversee field trials/pilot deployments at customer sites (solar plants).
- Collect and analyze performance data and customer feedback during validation.
- Drive iterations based on validation results before full-scale rollout.
- Define and track post-launch success metrics in coordination with Sales and O&M teams.
6. Reporting & Stakeholder Management
- Report directly to the management on product status, risks, and key decisions.
- Present product plans, timelines, and updates to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Maintain documentation: PRDs, roadmaps, test/validation reports, and product specifications.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 5 years of experience in product development/product management, preferably in hardware/electromechanical products, industrial equipment, IoT-enabled devices, or renewable energy products.
- Proven experience taking a product from concept to market launch, including field validation.
- Strong understanding of mechanical design/development processes; ability to read and discuss mechanical drawings, DFM/DFA concepts, and prototyping methods.
- Working knowledge of electronics/controller systems and software/dashboard products sufficient to coordinate effectively with technical teams (does not need to code or design circuits personally).
- Experience gathering and translating market research and sales requirements into product specifications.
- Strong project management skills — planning, scheduling, resource coordination, and risk management.
- Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Data-driven approach to decision-making; comfortable analyzing field/test data.
- Prior experience in solar/renewable energy, industrial automation, or capital equipment industries is highly preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial/Product Design (preferred); additional qualification in Product Management is a plus.
- Familiarity with tools such as CAD (for reviewing designs), MS Project/JIRA/Trello (for planning and tracking), and basic data analysis tools (Excel, etc.).
- Exposure to O&M practices for solar plants or similar industrial installations is an advantage.
Key Attributes We're Looking For
- Broad, systems-level thinker who can bridge mechanical, electronics, and software perspectives.
- Strong ownership mentality — comfortable driving a product independently with minimal supervision.
- Structured and organized, with the ability to set and hold teams accountable to targets and timelines.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, hands-on startup/tech-company environment.
- Strong communicator who can work equally well with engineers, sales teams, and leadership.
