Role Overview
The Project Manager is responsible for end-to-end project delivery, including site execution, cost control, installation, commissioning, and structured handover to the Service Team. The role ensures adherence to timelines, budgets, quality, and safety standards while managing resources, site visits, and expenses efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Project Execution & Site Management
- Lead the complete project lifecycle from site inspection through installation, commissioning, and handover.
- Plan and monitor project site visits for engineers, technicians, and contractors to ensure execution as per schedule.
- Oversee on-site activities and ensure infrastructure readiness prior to installation.
Resource Planning & Technician Coordination
- Plan and control technician and contractor deployment across project sites.
- Review and verify technician site visit expenses, travel claims, and execution-related costs.
- Ensure site visits are optimized to avoid repeat travel and inefficiencies.
Budget Control & Cost Optimization
- Monitor project budgets, including manpower, travel, logistics, and contractor costs.
- Drive cost control and cost-cutting initiatives without compromising quality or safety.
- Track cost deviations and implement corrective actions to maintain budget adherence.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure design readiness, material availability, and system configuration.
- Ensure smooth information flow between project execution, service readiness, and business teams.
Installation, Commissioning & Handover
- Ensure installations and commissioning are completed as per approved standards and documentation.
- Validate performance, close punch points, and execute a structured handover to the Service Team.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Conduct site-level meetings with clients and provide progress updates.
- Address execution-related concerns and ensure alignment with project scope and deliverables.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with quality standards, safety protocols, and statutory requirements at all sites.
- Identify and mitigate execution and safety risks proactively.
Reporting & Governance
- Maintain complete project documentation and execution records.
- Provide regular status updates on progress, costs, and risks to management.
- Capture lessons learned and recommended continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent.
- 5–8 years of experience in project execution or management roles.
- Proven experience in site-based projects with budget responsibility.
- Strong planning, coordination, and financial control skills.
- Proficiency in MS Office and project management tools.
Decision-Making Authority
- Approve site execution plans, technician deployment, and travel plans.
- Verify and approve project-related expenses within defined limits.
- Recommend budget optimizations and corrective actions.
- Escalate critical deviations in cost, timeline, or scope.
